The spirit of compassion and community defined a special Ramadan gathering as members of Peniagawati hosted a meaningful Iftar event and charity presentation for children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Penjagaan Nur Hidayah at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
The programme, which combined a communal breaking of fast with the presentation of duit raya contributions to the children, was organised by the Welfare Bureau of Peniagawati with the aim of sharing the blessings of Ramadan with those in need.
The event was held with the support of Dato’ Sri Dr. Irmohizam Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of WTCKL, and Fauzi Wahab, who welcomed the initiative and supported the hosting of the programme at the iconic Kuala Lumpur venue.
Also present at the gathering were Dato’ Emmy Suraya, President of Peniagawati; Dato’ Faridah Jabar, Yang Dipertua of Usahanita Malaysia; and Dato’ Azlin Shaharbi, alongside members of the association, sponsors, teachers and caregivers from the welfare organisation.
According to the organising chairman, the initiative was made possible through the collaboration of multiple stakeholders who share a common concern for community welfare. Contributions were provided by several parties including WTCKL, Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan, as well as individual donors and members of Peniagawati.
These contributions ensured that the children from the Nur Hidayah welfare home received festive donations and duit raya as a symbol of care and solidarity during the holy month.
Beyond the financial assistance, the event also highlighted the broader spirit of Ramadan — a time that encourages compassion, empathy and generosity towards those in need. Organisers expressed hope that even small acts of kindness could bring joy and encouragement to the children being celebrated during the gathering.
Special appreciation was also extended to the teachers and caretakers of the welfare organisation for their dedication in guiding and nurturing the children under their care.
As the evening unfolded, the gathering served as a reminder of the power of collective goodwill — bringing together community leaders, organisations and donors to create a meaningful Ramadan experience for the children of Nur Hidayah.
Organisers also encouraged the children to remain motivated in their studies and to continue striving towards their dreams, assuring them that many people stand behind them in support of their future.
