Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Union, in collaboration with Turkish Airlines Kuala Lumpur, successfully hosted the Bursa Tourism Showcase at TURKS KL Restaurant, attracting media representatives, travel industry leaders, creative players, and special guests eager to discover the unique charms of Bursa, Türkiye.

The event was graced by Haşim Ali Arıkan, Mayor of Harmancık, and Ferhat Erol, Mayor of Kestel, who led Bursa’s delegation. Their presence underscored Bursa’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia as a strategic partner in promoting Türkiye’s tourism.

Spotlight on Bursa

The showcase introduced Bursa as more than just a historic Ottoman capital — it is a destination that blends heritage, nature, wellness, and gastronomy. Highlights include:

UNESCO World Heritage Sites that preserve Bursa’s Ottoman legacy.

Uludağ Mountain, Türkiye’s leading ski and winter sports destination.

World-class thermal spas, offering rejuvenating treatments.

Bursa’s renowned cuisine, from juicy kebabs to signature candied chestnuts.

Special presentations also spotlighted Harmancık, an eco-tourism haven with fresh air, lakes, valleys, and hiking trails, and Kestel, a highland escape known for waterfalls, village culture, local flavours, and warm hospitality.

Strengthening Ties with Malaysia

“Bursa sees Malaysians as brothers and friends. Our hope is for Malaysian travellers to stay longer than just a day — to truly immerse themselves in Bursa’s beauty, culture, and history,” said Haşim Ali Arıkan, Mayor of Harmancık.

The delegation also shared several commitments to the Malaysian market, including:

Encouraging Malaysian visitors to stay at least three nights in Bursa.

Opening opportunities for charter flights via Bursa Yenişehir Airport (YEI).

Launching the Visit Bursa App to provide easy travel information.

Welcoming familiarisation trips with Malaysian tour operators, media, and influencers.
