Dine and Design: Peace Garden Cafe’s Mosaic Art Workshop Turns Lunch Into Art

In a quiet corner of Sungai Buloh, Peace Garden Cafe is doing something different. Here, your meal comes with a side of creativity. Tucked in a serene garden space, the cafe is now running Mosaic Art Workshops where guests can learn to design, cut, glue, and grout their own mosaic piece — then sit down to food right after.

Peace Garden Cafe already sets itself apart with its leafy, calm atmosphere. Wooden tables under trees, plants everywhere, and the feeling that you’ve stepped out of city noise. It’s the kind of place built for slowing down. Now they’re inviting people to slow down even more, with tiles in hand.

The workshop walks beginners through the full process of mosaic making. No experience needed. You’ll go from sketching your design to cutting tiles, arranging them, gluing, and finishing with grout.Sessions are kept small — max 10 pax — so the instructor can guide everyone.

Based on their August schedule, workshops run:

Saturdays: 10AM – 1PM

Sundays: 3PM – 6PM

Past projects shown include floral designs and a colorful butterfly mosaic, so you can expect plenty of room to play with color and pattern.

This isn’t a “bring your own snacks” kind of class. For RM120/pax, you get all materials plus a set meal and drink.

Choose your set:

Mains: Mandi Rice, Ayam Penyet, or Pizza

Drink: Ice Lemon Tea or soft drink

It’s a smart combo. You create in the morning or afternoon, then refuel with a proper meal in the same garden setting.

Most cafes serve food. Few give you something to take home that you made yourself. The mosaic workshop taps into that desire for experiences over just eating out. It’s great for date ideas, friends catching up, or even solo time to unplug.

In a city that moves fast, Peace Garden Cafe is offering the opposite: few hours to focus, make something beautiful, and eat well in a garden.
