In the spirit of preserving tradition while keeping the joyous atmosphere of Aidilfitri alive, Malaysian singer Nona Ushera, better known as Ushera, returns with her third Hari Raya single, Warna Warni Hari Raya.
Ushera first captured attention with her debut festive single Suka Ria Raya in 2017. She later followed up in 2021 with Kembali, a Raya song inspired by traditional Malay ghazal music. After a brief hiatus from producing festive tracks, Ushera makes a vibrant comeback this year with a brand-new Aidilfitri anthem that celebrates the colour and diversity of the season.
Warna Warni Hari Raya bears Ushera’s golden touch as lyricist, while production and composition were entrusted to Ganesh Bala, who helped shape the song to reflect the warmth and spirit of the holy month. The project’s manifesto centres on diversity and unity, brought to life through the involvement of creative talents from various cultural backgrounds.

If Ushera penned the lyrics and Ganesh Bala crafted its musical identity, the music video — filmed on 2 January — was directed and photographed by Arnaud Blondel. The visual presentation complements the song’s lively and inclusive theme.
Beyond the music itself, Ushera elevated the project through a collaboration with renowned fashion designer Syomir Izwa Gupta (@bysyomsz), ensuring her signature aesthetic — modern with a retro twist — remains intact. The collaboration enhances the vibrant and colourful mood expressed both musically and visually.
“The lyrics revolve around the joy of Hari Raya — the atmosphere, the excitement of returning to the village, wearing new festive outfits, and everything that makes Aidilfitri so colourful,” Ushera shared.
She added that the song carries deeper meaning by highlighting friendship and Malaysia’s multicultural society, which celebrates all festivities together in harmony.
“Hari Raya is a time to set aside differences, to gather, reconnect and celebrate together.
“I intentionally wrote the lyrics in a simple and catchy way so they would be easy to remember and resonate with listeners. At the same time, the melody carries a timeless freshness that can touch audiences across generations,” she explained.

Known for blending modern sensibilities with retro influences — both in style and in music — Ushera emphasised that Warna Warni Hari Raya was not created as a competitive effort, but rather as a contribution to the growing resurgence of festive songs in recent years.
“The last Raya song I produced was Kembali in 2021, and after that I stepped away from festive productions for a while.
“Recently, Raya songs have become more exciting — spanning various genres, no longer limited to melancholic or purely traditional tones, but infused with fresh, contemporary energy. And the public has embraced them.
“Seeing this positive reception inspired me to come back with Warna Warni Hari Raya. I want to be part of the colourful celebration of Raya and offer fans more variety when the festive season arrives,” said Ushera.
The vibrant music video for Warna Warni Hari Raya will premiere on YouTube on 16 February at 8.30pm, while the song will also be available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music starting 16 February 2026.
For the record, Ushera previously released an album titled Semalam Di Malaya in 2016, featuring tracks such as Bunga Raya, Dunia Asmara, Jikalau Abang Merindu, the upbeat Polynesia Mambo, and Chuchi Kain Chuchi Mata — all performed in her signature traditional style.
