BIRKENSTOCK Malaysia proudly announces the reopening of its 1 Utama store unveiling its all-new retail concept, the newest of its kind in Malaysia. The refreshed design reimagines the Birkenstock experience, bringing the brand’s rich heritage and craftsmanship to life through natural materials and thoughtful design details.
At the heart of the new concept lies BIRKENSTOCK’s iconic Footbed, the foundation of every pair of BIRKENSTOCKS. The store design mirrors the brand’s product philosophy by incorporating authentic, sustainable materials such as cork, leather, and wood, seamlessly integrated into the interiors to reflect BIRKENSTOCK’s long-standing commitment to quality, comfort, and environmental consciousness.

A key highlight of the space is the Brand Timeline, showcased on the central pillar within the store. This feature traces Birkenstock’s rich heritage and evolution over more than 250 years, offering visitors a visual journey through the milestones that have shaped the brand. It stands as a testament to Birkenstock’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and innovation — values that continue to define the brand today.
Developed by BIRKENSTOCK’s in-house retail design team, this new concept marks an evolution after five years with the previous design direction. The result is a refreshed space that showcases BIRKENSTOCK’s enduring values of craftsmanship, natural materials, and the world-renowned Footbed, while celebrating over 250 years of shoemaking heritage.

With the reopening of our 1 Utama store, we are proud to introduce Malaysia’s newest concept store, a space that encapsulates BIRKENSTOCK’s unique blend of heritage and innovation,” said Evelyn Chua, Managing Director of Southeast Asia and Downunder. “Our goal was to create more than just a retail space. We wanted an environment that immerses our customers in the essence of BIRKENSTOCK, right from the craftsmanship, the materials, to the enduring comfort that defines our brand.”
To commemorate the reopening, the store came alive with engaging in-store activities that celebrated self-expression and craftsmanship, two values at the heart of BIRKENSTOCK. Guests enjoyed a live portrait painting session that captured their unique BIRKENSTOCK style, while the personalisation station offered the chance to customise their own sandals, making each pair a true reflection of individuality and creativity, aligning the brand’s timeless belief that comfort and style are deeply personal.
