This Ramadan, Le Méridien Petaling Jaya invites guests to come together and break fast in true festive spirit with its much-anticipated Jamuan Bazaar Buka Puasa Dinner, thoughtfully curated across two distinctive venues – Pasar Baru and the Grand Ballroom. From classic bazaar favourites to indulgent durian treats, the experience promises warm moments of togetherness, flavour and tradition.

Le Méridien’s upcoming Ramadan buffet promises a generous celebration of flavours, drawing inspiration from Malaysia’s beloved bazaar culture while weaving in regional and international influences. Designed as a vibrant “Jamuan Bazaar”, the spread is expansive yet thoughtfully curated, offering something for every palate.

The journey begins with an array of classic accompaniments and appetisers, where crispy cucur udang and cucur sayur, assorted goreng-gorengan, and traditional ikan masin set the tone for a nostalgic buka puasa experience. A colourful selection of ulam-ulaman—from pegaga and ulam raja to petai and jering—comes paired with an impressive variety of sambal, including sambal belacan, sambal hijau, and cincaluk, allowing diners to customise every bite.

Among the cold selections, kerabu lovers will be spoilt for choice. Standouts include Kerabu Daging Salai Bijan, Kerabu Ayam Bakar dengan Mangga Muda, and the refreshing Umai Udang Sarawak, while the playful Kerabu MAMEE Kerang Ala Desa at the Signature Corner adds a modern twist to a traditional favourite.

Seafood enthusiasts can indulge at the Seafood on Ice station, featuring chilled prawns, green mussels, and clams, best enjoyed with classic cocktail sauce or a squeeze of fresh lemon. Meanwhile, comfort comes in a bowl at the noodle stations, with Mee Kari, Mee Kuah Ketam, and hearty kawah-style fried noodles prepared in generous portions.

The heart of the buffet lies in its robust Selera Kawah Melayu, where slow-cooked favourites such as Gulai Kawah Daging Tetel, Ekor Lembu Masak Asam Pedas, and Ketam Masak Lemak Nenas take centre stage, served alongside fluffy steamed rice. These are complemented by regional flavours from afar, including Indian Butter Chicken, Royal Lamb Varuval, and aromatic Ghee Rice from the Indian corner, as well as Oriental offerings like Butter Prawn with Sweet Chili and Black Pepper Mussels.

Adding to the bazaar atmosphere are the live stalls and grills. Highlights include Pakistani-style Nasi Biryani, Ayam Golek Warisan Timur, Middle Eastern Chicken Shawarma with Lebanese bread, and smoky sate ayam dan daging served with traditional accompaniments like lemang and ketupat palas. Rustic Malay flavours shine through at the Periuk Salai Kampung, featuring smoked beef, catfish, and siput sedut, while street-style favourites such as Roti John and Murtabak Ayam evoke fond Ramadan memories.

Dessert is a celebration in itself. From classic cakes like Pandan Layer Cake, Red Velvet, Black Forest, and Kurma Cake, to comforting local sweets such as pengat durian, bubur pulut hitam, and assorted traditional kuih, the sweet finale is indulgent yet familiar. Cooling options like taufufa, ice cream, and refreshing air balang—including Sirap Bandung and Assam Boi—round off the meal perfectly.

All in all, Le Méridien’s Ramadan buffet is less about excess and more about abundance with meaning—a carefully balanced showcase of heritage recipes, bazaar favourites, and crowd-pleasing classics, brought together to honour the spirit of togetherness that defines the holy month.
