Hibernate in Style at Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort: When Rainy Season Turns Into a Luxury Escape

I’m one of those travelers always on the hunt for cheap flight tickets. I mean, who doesn’t love a bargain, right? But here’s the catch: you’ve got to know why those flight prices are so low. Most of the time, it’s because it’s low season—no school holidays, fewer tourists. Worst case? It’s the weather. Think heavy rain, snowstorms, or full-blown monsoon.

I snagged a bargain ticket to Phu Quoc because I was craving Vietnam—and more specifically, a bowl of authentic beef pho. But two weeks before takeoff, I decided to check the weather. And guess what? October is the wet season in Phu Quoc—thunderstorms and all. Great. So much for sunbathing and island hopping. At this point, it felt like my only “hopping” would be from one hotel room to another.

Can’t go anywhere (unless you’re into sightseeing with an umbrella), can’t do much. So, what’s the next best thing? Hibernate. And not just anywhere—hibernate in style. Choose the coolest, most luxurious resort you can find that has everything you need, right on-site.

For me, that place was Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort. And here’s why I absolutely loved hibernating there:

1. Private Pool, All to Yourself

So I couldn’t go island hopping, but having my own private pool? That’s a pretty sweet alternative. Each of the 215 villas at the resort comes with its own unique design—and yes, its own private pool. Rain or shine, day or night, just slide open the balcony doors and dive in. Want a different view? The resort also has a massive, multi-layered infinity pool that connects both of the peninsula’s beaches. In a word? Majestic.

2. A Home Away From Home—But Make It Luxe

Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with a group, there’s a villa to suit your vibe. I stayed in a stunning split-level, three-bedroom villa with a full kitchen, dining area, and a stylish, cozy living room. Most villas overlook the sea and are surrounded by lush greenery and hills. The view from my villa? Absolutely breathtaking.

3. Food, Glorious Food

Not in the mood to cook? No problem. The resort offers two main dining spots: Corallo, known for its fresh seafood and BBQ style dishes, and The Market, which offers an incredible Vietnamese-inspired menu. Naturally, I made a beeline for the pho and traditional Vietnamese dishes—pure bliss. Craving something light? Head to the Deli or grab a snack from the pool bar.

4. Make a Splash: Kayak Through Paradise

When the rain takes a break and the waters calm down, it’s the perfect time to enjoy some water sports. Take a kayak out and paddled through the resort’s crystal-clear coastline. Peaceful, scenic, and a gentle workout—it’s one of those experiences that makes you fall in love with nature all over again. Whether you’re solo or with a partner, kayaking is a must-try here.

5. The People Make the Place

Even the most stunning resort wouldn’t matter much without amazing hospitality. And let me tell you—the staff here are incredible. Warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. I could WhatsApp them for anything, and the replies? Super fast, always helpful, never overbearing. They went out of their way to make my stay unforgettable. And they did.

Despite it being the rainy season (with the occasional thunderstorm!), I was lucky to catch a few sunny days. I got to chill on the beach, soak up the sun by the pool, and yes—enjoy that long-awaited bowl of pho.

Hibernating at Premier Village Phu Quoc turned out to be the best travel “detour” I never planned. Rain or shine, I left as one very happy traveler.
