Malaysia's Japanese culinary scene is set to take centre stage with the launch of the inaugural Pop Wasabi Awards 2026, a new competition dedicated to recognising the country's most promising young sushi chefs while celebrating the artistry, craftsmanship and heritage of authentic Japanese cuisine.
