Batik Boutique proudly celebrated the launch of its Rimba Collection on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, at its flagship store in 1 Mont Kiara.

The event, held in conjunction with Merdeka and the upcoming Malaysia Day, brought together a vibrant mix of media friends, influencers, loyal customers, and batik lovers who gathered to preview the brand’s latest designs.

The Rimba Collection, inspired by Malaysia’s rich natural jungles, reimagines contemporary batik prints in bold silhouettes. Each piece is handmade by artisans, reflecting Batik Boutique’s mission to create sustainable livelihoods while celebrating cultural traditions.

Alongside Rimba, guests were also introduced to the Palma Collection, a line inspired by the elegance of tropical palms and designed for timeless, everyday wear.

Responding to overwhelming demand, Batik Boutique also showcased its Bukit Collection, a customer favorite and best-seller that continues to resonate with those who love versatile, modern batik.

The event additionally spotlighted Embrace, Batik Boutique’s first cross-border collaboration with a Singaporean jewelry label, symbolizing unity and shared heritage during this patriotic season.

“The Rimba collection launch is an opportunity to show choosing Batik Boutique means choosing to support local artisans through celebrating modern heritage of authentic Malaysian batik. We want people to see how versatile batik truly is, from casual wear to formal looks – all while supporting the communities behind each piece,” said Amy Blair, Founder & CEO of Batik Boutique.

A highlight of the morning was the styling showcase led by Tengku Wazir, Marketing Director of Batik Boutique, who presented how batik can move seamlessly across different occasions and lifestyles. The showcase demonstrated batik in resort-style looks for holidays, casualwear perfect for daily life, and elevated formalwear, proving the adaptability of the fabric in both modern and traditional settings. The presentation emphasized Batik Boutique’s vision of making batik accessible, stylish, and relevant to today’s wardrobe while honoring its roots.

The presence of leading media outlets, social media personalities, and tastemakers amplified Batik Boutique’s message of heritage-driven fashion for the modern era.

The celebration concluded with traditional kuih served to commemorate Independence Day, accompanied by coffee sponsored by Kee Nguyen, Malaysia’s No. 1 Vietnamese coffee brand.

As a certified B Corporation and social enterprise, Batik Boutique continues to strengthen its impact by training and employing artisans from marginalized backgrounds. To date, the brand has supported more than 200 artisans and positively touched the lives of over 1,500 beneficiaries across Malaysia.
