As part of its ongoing 20th anniversary celebration, Rizman Ruzaini today unveiled its Hari Raya 2026 collections in an intimate fashion show held at Maison Rizman Ruzaini, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur — the home of the maison’s creative journey.
The presentation gathered 100 of the house’s most valued clients, closest celebrity friends, and members of the media, offering an exclusive first look at two collections that reflect the dual spirit of the brand today: couture and ready-to-wear, storytelling and modernity, tradition and renewal.
Rather than a conventional runway spectacle, the showing was conceived as an introduction and reflection — a powerful continuation of a 20-year story shaped by craftsmanship and cultural pride, the latter central to the brand’s raison d’être.

The Hikayat of Ratna
Spring Summer 2026 Special Collection by Rizman Ruzaini
At the heart of the presentation was The Hikayat of Ratna, a couture collection comprising 20 looks, conceived as an original hikayat written by co-founder Ruzaini Jamil. Drawing from the narrative traditions of classical Malay literature, the collection introduces a newly imagined folktale — one that merges Malay heritage with Arab influence, shaped by travel, spiritual symbolism, and shared histories.
Set in a coastal kingdom along the Strait of Malacca, the story unfolds through characters defined by devotion, faith, envy, and endurance. From Princess Ratna Bulan — whose moonlike presence symbolises inner clarity and grace — to Zayd al-Bahr, a seafarer guided by belief rather than certainty, the collection transforms narrative into form, fabric, and silhouette.
Design elements weave together Malay ceremonial attire such as baju kurung, kebaya, baju sikap, songket, tengkolok, and cucuk sanggul with Arab silhouettes including jubah and abaya. Motifs of lunar phases, eclipses, stars, florals, and maritime elements appear throughout the collection, articulated through intricate embroidery, tambour beading, and luminous woven textures.
Materials play a crucial narrative role. Chiffon, voile, and georgette create softness and movement, while layered lace beneath silk symbolises strength beneath delicacy. Songket anchors the collection in cultural prestige, and embellishments are applied with restraint — each technique chosen to support storytelling rather than overwhelm it.
The Hikayat of Ratna is priced between RM4,800 and RM22,000. Though presented as an introduction, the collection has sold out, with loyal clients reserving their pieces as early as December last year — a testament to the enduring trust placed in Rizman Ruzaini’s couture craftsmanship.

Rebirth Vol.3: Raya
Spring Summer 2026 by RR by Rizman Ruzaini
Complementing the couture narrative is Rebirth Vol.3: Raya, a ready-to-wear collection featuring 24 looks that reinterprets festive dressing through a contemporary, versatile lens. Designed as part of the ongoing Rebirth series, this chapter celebrates Raya as a shared Nusantara tradition, spanning Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei.
The collection blends classic silhouettes such as kebaya besar, kurung Kedah, kurung Pahang, and loose kurung with modern proportions, soft tailoring, and thoughtful detailing. Chiffon, lace, printed fabrics, and subtle ribbon accents create pieces that are designed to be mixed, layered, and worn beyond the festive season.
Rebirth Vol.3: Raya reflects the brand’s intention to honour tradition while responding to the realities of modern life — offering clothing that is elegant yet adaptable, rooted in heritage yet confidently forward-looking.
The collection is priced between RM500 and RM850, and will be available for purchase during the month of Ramadhan at RR by Rizman Ruzaini boutiques in Suria KLCC and Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, as well as online at www.rrbyrizmanruzaini.com.
