Sushi Summit returns this September for its tenth edition, bringing together a distinguished team of chefs from Miyagi, Japan for a limited three-day engagement dedicated to one region’s food culture.

Taking place from 18 to 20 September 2026 at Sushi Hibiki, Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur, Sushi Summit 10th will feature an exclusive omakase experience with two sessions daily at 5:30PM and 8:30PM, priced at RM1,680++ per person.

Sushi Summit is a collaborative culinary event that unites master sushi chefs—each presenting their own style, technique, and philosophy in a single, seamless dining journey. Guests will have the rare opportunity to experience multiple expressions of sushi without ever leaving their seats.

For its milestone tenth edition, Sushi Summit turns to Miyagi—a region in northeastern Japan where the mountains, the rivers, and the sea come together, and where the waters of the Sanriku Coast rank among the richest fishing grounds in the world.

This edition welcomes the DATEMAE SUSHI chefs from Miyagi, Japan—a culinary project uniting local fishermen, distributors, and chefs, and recipient of the Gault&Millau 2026 Innovation Prize, making their Malaysian debut. The 10th edition brings together four master chefs:

Takayuki Iwai — Sushi Iwaki, Sendai, Miyagi (Japan)
Makoto Saito Sam — Sushi Hibiki, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
Tsuyoshi Sato — Shiogama Otokoyama, Shiogama, Miyagi (Japan) Shota Kasahara — Ryusei, Kami, Miyagi (Japan)

Rather than a competition of one chef against another, Sushi Summit is an invitation to discover the character of each chef’s work—the belief that sushi is not about which is “better,” but about appreciating the beauty and variety in every style. One region, four stories, united by the sea, the mountains, and a deep respect for nature.

An Intimate Dining Experience

Over the course of a two-hour session, guests will be served a meticulously curated menu comprising multiple sushi pieces and signature dishes. With only a limited number of seats available per session, the experience is designed to be intimate, personal, and deeply engaging.

More than just a dining event, Sushi Summit 10th offers a rare glimpse into the artistry behind sushi. What awaits is more than a meal—it is a region on a plate: the hands that caught the fish, the seasons that shaped it, and the craft that brings it to the counter.

A Global Culinary Movement

Since its inception in 2019, Sushi Summit has been held across Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, and Dubai, featuring over 25 master chefs from around the world to date. Every edition has sold out, cementing its reputation as one of the region’s most anticipated culinary events.

Founded by Makoto Saito Sam, Executive Chef and Owner of Sushi Hibiki and Sakana Japanese Dining, together with Ee Soon Wei of APW, Sushi Summit aims to elevate the appreciation and standard of sushi in Malaysia. By bringing together top chefs and a growing community of sushi enthusiasts, the founders hope to raise the level of sushi craftsmanship in the local dining scene to a world-class standard.
