Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) today brought its month-long ‘Cerita Mereka, Jiwa Malaysia’ campaign to a close with the BSN Mikro MADANI Carnival at Wisma BSN, bringing together BSN-supported micro entrepreneurs and communities in celebration of Malaysia’s 69th National Day.
The campaign recognises the determination and resilience of everyday Malaysians who have built livelihoods through their businesses, creating opportunities and contributing to the communities around them. As part of this initiative, BSN highlighted 69 micro entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and cultures, reflecting the diversity of Malaysia’s microenterprise landscape, united by the courage to start and the ambition to build a better future.

“The journey of these BSN micro entrepreneurs is a success story that deserves to be celebrated, as an inspiration to other entrepreneurs. Their achievements represents nearly 180,000 micro entrepreneurs supported by BSN, reaffirming BSN’s commitment to strengthening the foundations for sustainable economic growth.
“Micro entrepreneurs are the backbone of the nation’s economic development and embody the entrepreneurial spirit of Malaysians. With the various support and initiatives provided by the Government, I am convinced that these efforts will help micro entrepreneurs build more sustainable livelihoods,” said YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II, at the carnival today.

The carnival brought the campaign to life through showcases by participating BSN micro entrepreneurs, giving visitors an opportunity to meet the entrepreneurs and experience their products firsthand. At the same time, BSN also continued to strengthen its entrepreneur development and social finance initiatives through financial literacy programmes held at the carnival, specifically for disabled entrepreneurs from MyOKU Preneur and rural entrepreneurs under KEMAS, Khadijah Artisans, and USAHANITA.
“Through ‘Cerita Mereka, Jiwa Malaysia’, we wanted to celebrate these everyday stories and the positive impact that entrepreneurship can create within communities. At BSN, our support goes beyond financing. We want to walk alongside entrepreneurs as they build sustainable businesses and create opportunities for those around them.

“As part of this campaign, nearly 5,000 special edition BSN batik-themed cup sleeves, inspired by the batik motif featured on BSN tellers’ uniforms, were distributed by participating entrepreneurs to their customers nationwide. Handcrafted by students from Sekolah Menengah Pendidikan Khas Vokasional Shah Alam, BSN’s Sekolah Angkat MADANI 2025, the initiative brought together entrepreneurship and creativity, while giving the students a platform to share their work with the wider community,” said BSN Acting Chief Executive, Encik Mujibburrahman Abd Rashid.
As the campaign concludes, BSN remains committed to supporting micro entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey, helping them build sustainable businesses, strengthen the local economies and communities they call home.
