Malaysia’s menswear scene has a new reason to get dressed up. Chinese fashion label CABBEEN has officially opened its fourth Malaysian store at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, marking another step in its regional expansion while bringing its distinctive blend of contemporary design, street culture and avant-garde aesthetics to a growing local audience.
The opening drew a fashionable crowd of celebrities, artists and key opinion leaders (KOLs), with actor Evertts Gomes, known for Kudrat 1968: High Council, among the guests lending their support. Radio deejay and KOL Fiqrie took on hosting duties, keeping the energy high as guests gathered to celebrate the brand’s latest retail outpost.
Fashion was naturally part of the main event. Guests turned up in pieces from CABBEEN’s latest collections, offering a glimpse of the label’s approach to modern menswear, where distinctive silhouettes, considered tailoring and contemporary design details come together. The looks also underscored the brand’s appeal to a generation of style-conscious consumers who favour individuality over convention.
The celebration continued with networking, a celebratory toast and interactive games, creating opportunities for guests to connect beyond the racks. More than a store opening, the event reflected CABBEEN’s ambition to establish itself as part of Malaysia’s evolving fashion and creative scene.
Where Chinese Design Meets Contemporary Street Culture
CABBEEN Fashion (referred to as CABBEEN) was founded in 1997. With its brand philosophy of “Reshape The Trend,” its forward-thinking approach to individualistic fashion, and its dedication to original design. Its collections explore the intersection of traditional artistic references and contemporary lifestyles, resulting in menswear that aims to stand apart from the mainstream.

Distinctive tailoring, experimental fabric combinations and an unconventional design language are central to the brand’s aesthetic, balancing fashion-forward expression with cultural references. The result is a wardrobe for men who see clothing not merely as a daily uniform, but as a way to communicate personality and attitude.
With more than 650 physical stores across China, CABBEEN has established a substantial retail footprint in its home market. Its international fashion credentials include showcasing collections at New York Fashion Week, while its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2013 marked another milestone in its corporate journey.

Four Stores, One Growing Fashion Footprint
CABBEEN entered Malaysia in June 2025 with its first store at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, followed by a second outlet at Sunway Velocity Mall in the same month. The brand subsequently expanded to Mid Valley Megamall in August 2026, introducing its latest store concept and visual identity, before opening its IOI City Mall outlet in September 2026.
The four locations reflect a growing retail strategy designed to bring the brand closer to Malaysian consumers, with further expansion planned for 2027.
CABBEEN’s Malaysian outlets are located at:
- Pavilion Bukit Jalil — Lot 2.21.00, Level 2, Orange Zone
- Sunway Velocity Mall — L2-46
- Mid Valley Megamall — F-037
- IOI City Mall — G-67
The brand has also brought its sub-brand 2AM to Malaysia, broadening its offering with another take on contemporary, trend-driven fashion. Together, the labels signal a wider ambition to connect with younger consumers through evolving interpretations of style, design and self-expression.

Beyond the Clothes: Championing Local Creativity
CABBEEN’s Malaysian ambitions extend beyond retail. The brand has taken on the role of Honorary Sponsor of Music Boleh, supporting the development of Malaysia’s original music scene and encouraging local musicians and creators to continue producing original work.
The partnership reflects a broader interest in the relationship between fashion, music and youth culture — creative worlds that share an appetite for experimentation and individuality. By supporting homegrown talent and engaging with the local creative community, CABBEEN aims to build connections that go beyond its collections.
As its Malaysian footprint grows, the label is positioning itself at the intersection of Chinese design perspectives and the country’s diverse creative landscape. Its fourth store is another physical marker of that ambition — and a sign that the brand intends to make its presence felt well beyond the shop floor.
