After more than 14 months of forced closure due to a licensing misunderstanding, Durian King TTDI has officially reopened, bringing relief to fans who have long considered it a staple durian destination in the Klang Valley. Established in 2015, the humble yet iconic stall has built a loyal following for its fresh durian selections and its famously generous, flavour-packed durian cendol.
The shutdown, which left many customers wondering what had happened, was the result of a miscommunication between Durian King and the authorities. Through appeals involving the Segambut MP’s office, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, and strong support from the Minister of Agriculture—who recognised the industry’s importance to farmers, transporters, food security and jobs—the outlet was finally cleared to resume operations. Owner Erik Ong expressed deep gratitude to all parties who helped facilitate the reopening.

With its return, Durian King TTDI brings back everything customers have missed: fresh durian supplied daily from farms—including its own 95-acre plot in Rawang—and popular premium varieties like Black Thorn and Musang King. The stall, which has served as a friendly neighbourhood hangout spot for a decade, remains committed to its core values of honesty, integrity and customer satisfaction. The reopening also upholds Durian King’s continued support for local youth employment, following regulations that require durian sellers to be Malaysian, and aims to help local farmers by stimulating demand amid lower market prices and supply challenges.

Marking its 10-year milestone in 2025, Durian King TTDI hopes to welcome both loyal and new customers back to enjoy quality durian at fair prices—while continuing its mission to support Malaysia’s durian industry and the community that has grown with it.
